If you are just starting out on your journey of learning Greek, what do you need and how do you get started? Here are our suggestions.
You need to purchase the textbook, Basics of Biblical Greek: Grammar. Everything we have on Teknia is centered on this book. You can purchase it from Teknia as part of the Everything You Need to Learn Greek package, or you can get it from Amazon or Christian Books.
You also need to purchase Basics of Biblical Greek: Workbook. It takes what you have learned in the grammar and helps you apply it by actually translating the New Testament. All the exercises in the online class are centered on this workbook. You can purchase it from Teknia as part of the Everything You Need to Learn Greek package, or you can get it from Amazon or Christian Books.
The Basics of Biblical Greek: Lectures are like sitting down with Bill Mounce, the author of Basics of Biblical Greek, and having him walk with you through the textbook. These have been widely used for over ten years, by graduate and undergraduate students (in both distance and traditional programs), as well as by independent learners. You can buy them as separate products or as part of the Everything You Need to Learn Greek package.
There are many other resources, both for sale and for free, to help you learn Greek. You can see them on the Basics of Biblical Greek Resources page.
Most importantly, be sure to visit the free online class. This is where you will find the greatest number of resources. (The lecture videos available from within the online class are for sale; the rest of the resources are free.)
